Stay together – parents and kids and do it together.

  2. Joan Says:

Trick or Treat with your kids!

  3. Kyle Says:

Make sure to have a well lit-up walkway so no one gets hurt heading to your door this Halloween!

  4. cathy Says:

Give your kids lots of glow sticks to be visible in the dark.

  5. Stephanie Says:

We stick together and use glow sticks!

  6. Lesli Says:

    Bring a flashlight!

  7. Heather Keane Says:

Travel with the family and bring flashlights! Where a Bike light on your head…;-)

  8. Erin Ashworth Says:

My top tip is simply to stay with your kids. Next would be wearing reflective clothing and bringing flashlights.

  9. Keya Millionie Says:

Always go in groups with flashlights in a neighborhood that you know

  10. Alea Shinn Says:

Trick or treat in a group!! No solo trick or treating. Safety in numbers!

  11. Rebecca O'Brien Says:

Don’t wear all black! wear bright colored clothing or at least reflector tape, safety in numbers and stay in neighborhoods your familiar with.

  12. Ashley LLloyd Says:

For kids mine is always go in groups if you go trick or treating

  13. Robin O Says:

    Flashlights and close parental supervision!

  14. Kirsten Says:

Whoops! Thanks for letting me know I posted in the wrong area! LOL I think it’s important for parents to stick close to their children and make sure they are visible to drivers. Too often when I drive my children there are kids darting between cars.

  15. Amber Saxby Says:

Make sure kids are always with an adult and never eat anything until an adult can go through them first (and take the good stuff!)

  16. Michelle L Says:

Trick-or-treat in groups with adults present, make sure the kiddos costumes don’t drag on the ground (fire hazard), they aren’t dressed in all black, are wearing glow sticks or carrying flash lights, and the kiddos know not to walk in the street. We walk in a circular pattern so the kids don’t run across the street from house to house.

  17. Chelle Says:

Having my kids trick or treat in familiar areas. When I was a kid the goal was to get as much candy as possible so we went far far away from where we were supposed to stay. Not a good idea now days. I also am a big fan of glow sticks. They look cool and allow others to see my kids coming a mile away.

  18. Laura R. Says:

(oops, responded to wrong blog post!) All of the above suggestions are great! We also only approach houses with lights on and trick-or-treat in well-lit streets.

  19. monica Says:

Congratulations to Keya for being selected (via http://www.random.org/) as the winner of Day #26 of 31 Days of Green Giveaways.
