10 Animal-themed eco-crafts/ activities for Halloween

What to do if Green Halloween® isn't at your local zoo or aquarium?

In 2009, Green Halloween partnered with five zoos across the country to help make their Halloween events healthier and more sustainable by helping them swap a total of about 200,000 units of conventional candy treats with healthier/greener options donated by product partners such as Larabar.

Today, in partnership with the Association of Zoos and Aquariums, almost 50 locations will distribute more than one million units of healthier, greener treats and treasures, replacing conventional candy at zoo and aquarium events coast-to-coast. Green HalloweenŽ also provides zoos and aquariums with tips sheets and resources for greening their own events and for inspiring their guests to celebrate Halloween (and all holidays) sustainably.

In future years, our hope is to grow the partnership to reach all 6-8 million guests (and growing) who make celebrating Halloween with their local zoos and aquariums a tradition.

In the meantime, if your local zoo or aquarium isn't yet on board, let 'em know you are eager to see them make the switch! E-mail info@GreenHalloween.org for more information.
