Over the weekend we received all-natural fruit strip samples from Stretch Island Fruit Co. Our daughter’s love these strips as snacks or packed in their lunch boxes. Can’t wait to spread the love at Green Halloween-Tampa 2011 and pass out these yummy in your tummy healthy snacks!

It seems like everyday there are new samples arriving from our national sponsors! They are piling up in my living room and there is definitely excitement in the air for Green Halloween 2011! So far, we have received samples from Endangered Species -all natural milk and dark chocolate treats, yum! Surf Sweets-organic gummy bears oooh! and Nature’s Oath-Envirokidz organic chocolate crispy rice bars, GLUTEN FREE! May have to sample some of these myself to make sure they are ok hee hee hee!

Wow! The 2nd annual Green Halloween 2010 was a great success! Children dressed in fun and eco-friendly Halloween costumes and enjoyed the exciting activities and healthy treats our local vendors provided! Whole Foods did an amazing job guiding the kiddos along a trick-or-treat trail inside the store! Each child was given a recyclable Whole Foods bag and healthy treats were distributed at each section in the store. What a fun way to teach children about healthier choices during Halloween! This year at GH we will be donating to the Alpha House of Tampa! The Alpha House mission: To empower pregnant and parenting women in crisis to realize their ability to break the cycles of poverty and abuse and create promising lives for themselves and their babies.

Tampa, get ready for the 2nd annual Green Halloween event. We are excited to announce that this year’s Green Halloween event will take place at Whole Foods Market 1548 North Dale Mabry Blvd on Friday, October 29th from 4-7pm.
Event will feature kid-friendly games, eco-costume contest, entertainment and sponsor booths that will supply an eco-friendly family activity or product to distribute. Each participant will be given recyclable Halloween bags to help them collect their goodies along the way.  We have several local and state agencies who will also be participating educating our guests about our environment in a fun and memorable way.

Welcome to Tampa’s First Annual Green Halloween!  

Green Halloween is a grassroots initiative to create healthier and more Earth-friendly holiday traditions. We’re just getting started, so stay tuned for more information about our first annual Green Halloween on October 23rd at Hyde Park Village.
