November 15th is America Recycles Day!

Here are three ways you can celebrate while wrapping up your Halloween festivities:

1. Before dumping your Halloween costume, check out Earth911′s article, “8 ways to reuse your [Halloween] costume.”

2. Don’t toss your candy wrappers – upcycle them into cool and useful things. Here’s how to make runway-worthy handbags.

The Obamas were (kind of) on board for a Green Halloween

Sunday, November 8th, 2009

Or, at least, a healthy(-er) Halloween.

According to MSNBC, President Obama and First Lady Michelle treated 2,000 trick-or-treaters to goody bags containing White House made cookies, a National Park Foundation Ranger activity book, and dried fruit mixes.

The bags also contained M&Ms, but we forgive them.
