Indie artists rock! Their creativity, initiative and individual approach excites us and so do their products. That’s why we’re delighted to be contributors to the fab online magazine, Viva La Moda.

In this month’s issue, we’ve selected some of the sweetest Halloween gifts imaginable, all handmade and most from Etsy.com

Take a look. We think these items will hook you on handmade (if you’re not already).

Sept Cover

Check out our article on greening Halloween in the latest edition of Just Cause magazine, available for free online here.

If you haven’t read Just Cause yet, do. You’ll be inspired.

Here’s a little out them (in their own words):

JUST CAUSE is a magazine about solutions. Sure, we’re facing a lot of problems in this world, but we’re pretty sure that if we focus on the solutions, we can solve the problems. We bring you stories of individuals, organizations and businesses that are doing something GOOD, and you can join them!

We’re a tad irreverent, totally optimistic, occasionally sarcastic and absolutely convinced that we can change the world. What’s more, we’re convinced it can be fashionable, funky, fun and smart. We like business, shopping, eating, playing and all the same things that you do, and we’ll help you do all those same things in a way that is, at least, “less bad.” Maybe even downright “just!”

We’ve been invited…

To be bloggers for KIWI magazine and HGTV.com!

In the spring we’ll also begin answering all of your deepest and dark-greenest questions in a new “Ask Lynn and Corey” column on HGTV.com.

In recent months our articles have also appeared on The CW Network‘s Seattle’s site, on Mothering.com, Savvy Source and more.

We appeared as contributors in the winter edition of Positively Green magazine  also been invited to contribute to a new e-zine called Sexy Green, launching Valentine’s Day, 2009.

We’re excited to share this news with you and look forward to keeping you up-to-date on our year ’round blog at www.CelebrateGreen.NET.

Green Halloween was a smash hit!

Friday, January 16th, 2009

The first word that comes to mind is: WOW.

The second word is THANK YOU.

(Okay, that’s two words, but who’s counting?)

Green Halloween 2008 was amazing. Thanks to you.

From coast-to-cast parents, neighborhoods, schools, organizations, businesses and even entire cities, came together to give Halloween a healthier, more sustainable makeover. Because of your passion, your support, your willingness to share your ideas and your willingness to try something new, Green Halloween was even bigger and better than we could ever imagine. (Did we already mention that we think you rock?)

It’s hard to calculate just how many people took part in year two, but here are a few stats I think you’ll be excited about:

  • 14,500 – The number of unique visitors on Green Halloween’s website in the week before Halloween.
  • 37, 500 –  The number of unique visitors we welcomed on Green Halloween’s site during the official Green Halloween period from 9/1/08 – 11/15/08.
  • 100 + – The estimated number of websites and blogs that featured the Green Halloween initiative. Sites included Home & Garden Television (HGTV.com), Disney’s Ideal Bite, A Fresh Squeeze, Cool Mom Picks, Planet Green, Big Green Purse, EcoStilleto and Daily Candy. (If you wrote or blogged about Green Halloween, you’ve been elevated to saint status).

And the press was excited about us too. From a article in KIWI magazine to a cover story in the Seattle Times’‘ Sunday magazine to a mention on Access Hollywood to an interview on Martha Stewart Radio – we were able to mainstream our initiative in a big, big way. (For a list of all of our press, click here.)

Thank you for whatever you did to green your Halloween – whatever it was, know that you made a difference.

Your Mother (Earth) would be proud.
